Provo basically does the same thing -- 2756 hours per year, 106 hours per PP. Our firefighters fill in their time with their time off accruals when they are not going to work their regularly scheduled shifts.

(Our firefighters are on equalized paychecks, so they get paid for the 106 hours regardless of their actual hours worked in the PP. Their actual hours worked are based on an 18-day cycle.)

I hope that helps, Amy, but email me at taolsen@provo.gov if you would like more info!

So we do 2912 schedule and we must have it set up differently with URS. I'd have to check with our payroll gal to see what it's declared with URS. I know that on our weeks where they work 96 hours our firefighters don't have to use leave to get to 106 hours. I want to say ours says up to x hours or something.

Our Firefighters work 2756 hours annually, and we have declared 106 hours per pay period with URS.  Our new Fire Chief is concerned about the practice that firefighters need to use their time off accruals if they are not scheduled 106 hours for the pay period.  How does your entity handle this? Do you have a policy in place?
